One of the nation's largest Juneteenth celebrations, Denver's free Juneteenth Music Festival is returning to the Five Points neighborhood with live entertainment on June 20, 2026. Celebrate with a parade, live performances, art, vendors and fun for the entire family.

 

This Year's Juneteenth Events

Southern Soul Plaza Party

WHEN: Friday, June 19, 2026 from 6–11 p.m.
WHERE: Five Points Plaza

Kick off the Juneteenth weekend in style at this intimate ticketed event and fundraiser held at the historic Five Points Plaza. This evening celebration blends live performances, curated DJ sets, local food and drinks, line dancing and a vibrant gathering of community members.
 

Juneteenth Parade

WHEN: Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
WHERE: 26th Street from Williams to Welton

Be a part of one of Denver's longest running parades dating back to the 1950s. Nearly 3,000 people march in the Juneteenth Parade to honor the struggles and social progress achieved through marches and demonstrations organized for freedom, justice and equality in our country's history.
 

15th Annual Juneteenth Music Festival

WHEN: Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 12–8 p.m.
WHERE: 2700 Welton Street

Held in Five Points following the Juneteenth Parade, this street festival brings thousands of people together for a full day of live performances, local vendors, food and family-friendly activities. The event honors Juneteenth and its history while creating space for connection across the community.
 

Juneteenth Hop

WHEN: Sunday, June 21, 2026 from 2 p.m.–12 a.m.
WHERE: Multiple venues along Welton Street

Journey through a collection of local bars, breweries and cultural spaces along Welton Street, each featuring curated live performances that showcase the rich traditions of jazz, soul, hip-hop and beyond.

 

About Juneteenth

Commemorated in cities across the nation and around the world since June 19, 1865, Juneteenth is a cultural event marking the ending of slavery and the beginning of African American independence in the United States. The 2021 Denver event will focus on the importance of art, storytelling and inclusion, and will include the annual DREAM BIG Awards. The online award ceremony will highlight individuals who have made positive impacts on the community and will feature musical performances, live podcasts, a virtual cypher, comedy, history segments and more.
